PREREQUISITES FOR WAVES

Compete in swim meets, have four legal compettivie swim strokes,

Can complete the following endurance sets

6 x 25 free @ :45

6 x 25 Kick with a board @ 1:00

4 x 50 Free @ 1:40

1 x 100 IM from a dive <2:45

 
DESCRIPTION

Swimmers in Waves 1 have some competitive swimming experience.

The main focus of this group is to refine and continue to develop the swimmer’s skills with exposure to conditioning and endurance training.

All of the swimmer’s other activities, such as soccer, baseball, dance, etc. are encouraged. 

Swimmers generally compete in SBSC hosted inter-squad and sanctioned invitational meets and are encouraged to attend at least 3-4 practices offered each week. 

More experienced swimmers generally compete in local level swim meets.

Progression to the next level is based on age (Junior White) or achievement (Waves 2).

PREREQUISITES AND PROTOCOLS FOR PROMOTION

Promotion to be offered to Waves 2 on  2/1, 6/1 or 9/1.

Swimmers may be eligible for Waves 2 if:

  1. They have achieved three 9-10 BB times in two different strokes.
  2. They have completed the 9-10 IMX
  3. They can complete the following practice sets:
    1. Swim 10 X 25 @ :40
    2. Kick with board 8 x 25 @ :50
    3. Swim 6 x 50 @ :50
    4. Swim 2 x 100 IM @ 2:30 from a push.
FUNDRAISING

All Waves families are required to complete 15 Service Hours per year. Participating in the teams annual Narwhalathon is highly encouraged with a goal of $200 Fundraising.
