Board of Directors Updates...

A great big thank you goes to our outgoing board members Chris Foster, Jon Blair, and Brian Alderman. Thanks for the years of service, expertise, experienced advice, and willingness to serve SBSC. Along with this thank you comes a welcome to Holly Smith and Mark Galbraith, our two newest members of the Board of Directors. This month's meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5th. It will be held at the school district teachers office 111N Hope street.

SBSC IMX/Sprint Pentathlon Meet a Big Success

As one would expect: SBSC hosts another great competition for our athletes. Big thanks go to Ai Filip and all of her crew. This was the best attended meet by SBSC swimmers in the last 5 years with over 80 swimmers entered. Beyond that, it appears to be the best % best times by the swimmers as well!! On a personal note, I am very appreciative to everyone that I could place my swimmers and our team in the hands of the staff and volunteers as I spend some very needed time away with my family. It is a clear symptom of a very healthy organization. Thank you all for your contributions to this great Team.

The SBSC Board of Directors is looking to recruit new Board Members for open positions this fall. If you have interest in serving please complete the attached questionnaire and submit it to the swim office by September 1, 2009. 2009/2010 Swim Year Financial Assistance Policy Updated

All families receiving SBSC sponsored financial assistance must reapply annually every September. The new policy/guidelines and application form are linked above.

Semana Nautica....Another Great Success

To all of the SBSC coaches, families, and volunteer guests...THANK YOU! Thank You,  for a wonderful Semana Nautica 2009.  There were so many compliments heard all weekend long on the wonderful time all of our visiting teams were having.  Thank you to the hard working set- up and clean-up crews, the admin crew, announcers, check-in and awards crew, the timing, marshall, hospitality and snack bar.  Special thanks to Ai Filip, Meet Manager, for organizing a great meet, Jennifer Butler for spearheading a new and creative Snack Bar, and the Gabriel Family for a new heat posting board!  When we all work together there are no limits to our teams success now and for the future!  Enjoy your summer and we look forward to making our October and December hosted meets even better!!

SBSC Parents Get Handbook!!

The SBSC handbook has been updated and made available via .pdf linked on the left of this page. It would be advisable not to print the present version as there will be many adjustments to it as members find information either lacking or incorrect in some areas. It was best in the teams opinion to make this version available as a starting point. The handbook is meant to be a basic reference for new families to gain some valuable background knowledge about not only the team, but the sport of swimming as well. A new, updated version will be available at the end of each month beginning in May and it should be a great reference tool for all of our families by the end of the summer. If, after having had a chance to look through the handbook, you see that something is missing or inaccurate, please take the time to submit a suggestion to: HANDBOOK

One of the Board’s goals this year is to add corporate sponsors. We cannot do this without your help. The best businesses to approach are those at which you work, know the owner/manager, and/or are a regular customer.

Please contact fundraising@sbswim.net with your suggestions. We will ask you to make the ‘introduction’, and then we will approach your contact with the details about how easy and rewarding it is to sponsor SBSC. Relationships that lead to Corporate Sponsorships will fulfill your family’s annual fundraising obligation! Individuals can also sign on as sponsors. All donations are tax deductible.
